Cheer up... 5 oz is easy to lose again. Keep chewing your gum... or get some suckers or frozen fruit pops (gives you the oral fixation you crave and gives your hand something to do/hold). You've gotten through the hardest part of quitting... you CAN do it. It only gets easier from here.

Just remember - a craving only lasts 5 minutes (feels like eternity I know, but its not)... you could even go for a quick power walk for 5 mins when the next craving hits and I bet you will feel a lot better.

    Hang in there. :flowerforyou:

So my friend quit last year and she would exercise every time she had a craving for food. She lost weight instead of gaining.

You can do this. Your taste buds are coming alive. Try brushing your teeth......IDK do it at work too!

AND make SURE you have healthy tasty foods around. Your in luck because your choice is abundent and less expensive this time of year. Grapes and strawberries........yum!!

Good luck. I am super proud of you for quitting that nasty habit!!

None of us got where we are over night, none of us get back to where we were over night either. you are kicking a serious addiction! Health is why you are here. I quit many years ago and it was hard. If you can do this, you can lose the weight you want to lose much easier. The center in your brain takes time to readjust. don't beat yourself up. you are fighting a great fight, I know you will win. So instead of being down on yourself, be proud every time you want a cigarette and you don't have one, every single time! That should perk you right up! Be strong! tell yourself "I love myself more than I love smoking!"
Being healthy is the goal and you are doing that one temptation at a time!

I quit smoking 2 years ago. Keep water with you ALLLL the time and use a straw to drink it. The straw gives you the same sensation as smoking - and it REALLY helped me. I used straws for about a year!

good luck!!! You can TOTALLY do this! Mind over matter, be strong.
