Eating when you aren't hungry

Do any of you eat even when you aren't hungry just to hit your calorie goals for the day? The really only happens to me when I do a rather large amount of exercise in a day and eat very healthy (fruit, salmon, etc). It only happens once in a blue moon, but once in a while I realize I have ~400 calories left for the day (which are exercise calories I'm eating back) and I just don't feel like eating anymore.
Is it really so important that I should therefore eat even though I'm not hungry?

Yes, I force feed myself at night at least twice a week in order to just get to 1200. Lately, I've been trying to eat lots more during the day in order to avoid this problem. I just stuffed myself with a banana after lunch even though I was full. Doesn't feel good....0
