Question about calories burned from exercising

Do the lists of calories burned by doing cardiovascular exercises take into account calories burned during "normal" activity? For the sake of example, Lets say I burn 100 calories/hr at a resting position. When I exercise for an hour, the myfitnesspal website says I burn 500 calories. Have I actually only burned an additional 400 calories or do I count the entire 500? Also, should I use the calorie count burned on my watch instead of the generic numbers on the website?

If you're wearing an HRM with a chest strap, use those numbers. And MFP takes into account that 100 you would have used resting, so if you use your HRM numbers you would subtract that 100 cals and then enter the remainder as what you burned.
