bicept curls with milk jugs (once the milk is gone, fill with water... it's about 10 pounds).0

If you have an old inner tube from a 10-speed bicycle, hook it on your foot and use the resistance to work your biceps? Large unopened soup cans?
And sorry, but it's kinda hard to do any kind of arm exercise without engaging the chest muscles in some small way.0 -
When you say upper arm muscles are you talking about biceps, triceps, both, or your traps (which are shoulders actually, but they connect to the rotator cuff and the arm).
There are numerous exercises that work the arms.
Yep, dips are one good one. Also good are underhand pullups (biceps, lats, and delts), pushups (although they do encorporate the chest).
If you have no space or money for a home gym, resistance bands (inexpensive, maybe 25 bucks) can be a great tool for it, with any doorframe you can set up a mini gym and do plenty of resistance band workouts. Resistance bands are great for isolating the arms.
for instance, here is a decent one which lets you vary resistance and has a door connector:

Dips are great for your tri's, but it will work your chest as a secondary muscle group due to the expansion and contraction of your pertoralis muscles. Banks is right about the pushups, they are awesome for arms.
Just a side ?, why are you trying to avoid the chest muscles?0
