Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. I am NOT a morning person but with my work schedule on some days, it just makes the most sense to work out early. I do so much better in the evening- in the A.M i cannot to get into the zone! My body drags and it feels like my brain isn't connected to the rest of me yet! What do you all do to pump yourselves up and get your body going before a workout??

I have the same problem. I tried moving my workouts to the morning but they just sucked. I had to move them back to evening.

I wish I could work out in the mornings. I just don't have the motivation because I have the whole day of "to dos" looming. I do better at night after work. That way I know exactly how much time I have to spare because my day is over.

IDK how people do it, honestly. I can't function early.

Caffeine and time. You'll get adjusted. Sucks for a while though. Don't let it be an excuse not to do it though.

I don't workout in the morning but I have to be at work by 6:30am. Here's how I've managed to get myself up and going:

    1) Get up at the same time Monday-Friday and only allow yourself an extra 3 hours on the weekends (at most - I usually set my alarm to 2 hours later on Sat & Sun)

    2) try to go to bed around the same time each night (within an hour)

    3) When the alarm goes off, immediatiotely throw off the covers and stand up.

    4) Immediately wash face, brush teeth and change. Don't stop, just go.

Eventually the routine becomes automatic and it's easier. It took me about a month for the routine to settle in. After a year of it, I now get up before the alarm goes off most days and a late night doesn't throw me off too much.

You can also adjust in 15 minute increments. If you normally set the alarm for 7:30am, try setting it for 7:15 for a week, then 7:00 the next week... until you reach the time you want to get up.
