This is the first time I have attempted to honestly try and shed some poundage and I am finding myself in a bit of a quandary when at the local Vons/TJ's. I like to cook but it's hard to make a big meal for yourself every night and eating out normally results in caloric overload. Does anybody know of a good site or have some ideas for easy, tasty, low cal meals I can select and make a shopping list? Appreciated the input!
Thanks!

A lot of people suggest making stir fry meals because you can put in lots of veggies and lean meat (I'm allergic to soy so I can't use soy sauce) and there are healthy leftovers. I just created my own using measured portions of bagged broccoli slaw, chicken breast, rice noodles, and red curry sauce.
Other days, I get the single serve size packages of veggies that can go in the microwave and toss a chicken or turkey burger in the toaster oven (no grill, not allowed in my condo) and have a burger (bun optional) and veggies.

Get a good set of measuring cups and a kitchen scale and measure everything to make sure that you're at the correct calories for your plan. Most of my sites are gluten free, but I also check out www.foodnetwork.com and www.cookinglight.com most of their recipes are pretty easy to cut in half so there are only two servings rather than 4 or more (depending on how much you like leftovers)

    Hope this helps!
