Paleo/Primal: Yay or Nay?

About a year ago I really started getting into learning how different foods affect your moods. Then, though, I went to Spain: land of endless carbs. While I've had a great experience overall, I won't pretend that my moods haven't been a little more - er, unstable - since I got here...
The past week I've started to think again about my diet. Tonight at dinner, for example, instead of having rice (or pasta or a piece of bread) with my chicken and vegetables, I had a potato - and afterwards I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. There's something about grains that I know always brings my moods down, whether or not I always admit it...
It sounds like paleo/primal would be a good choice for me, but I want to hear from people who have had experience with it. Likes/dislikes? Good or bad experiences? Any advice or modifications you'd recommend?

This video might really be helpful. I watched the whole thing (17 minutes!!) and am really glad I did. It is not promoting any specific diet or fad or anything like that, but it is essentially PALEO. It provides some AMAZING information and results!!!

I think you can't have potatoes on paleo.
-Likes: focuses on non-processed foods.
-Dislikes: Is irrationally restrictive0 -
I'm still doing my research, but I'm just saying the grains definitely tend to weigh me down - haha, not on the scale, but mood-wise.0

If grains don't agree with you, simply stop eating them. No need to get caught up in caveman diet mythology.0

Well, yeah - I think either way I've learned that I just need to eliminate the processed grains, but it's started to make me wonder if there's anything else that's weighing me down that I don't know about yet...0
