My BMR shows to be 1,167
My BMI is at 25.2
My BF is 26.05
My current weight is 129
I am 5 ft

On my goals....it shows that my daily activity is 1,570....and if i eat 1200 cals... i should lose .07 lbs a week.

My question is ....if my BMR is 1,167....shouldn't i be eating less cals than that to lose weight. I guess i am confused with the difference between the BMR and the Daily Activity level my goals are set at.

Thanks,
San :)

You BMR is the energy you expend if you were effectively in a coma or asleep all day. It does not include you daily activity or you exercise calories.

    presumably 0.7 lbs/week, not 0.07

You've told it that each day you expend 1570 cals - your daily activity level..

It predicts that if you eat 1200 you will lose 0.7 lbs/week as your daily deficit is (1570-1200) = 370 cals per day

    370 * 7 = 2590 cals per week, divide by 3500 cals per lb loss = 0.74

BMR in itself has no speficic significance when it comes to weight loss, it's just the biggest part of your daily energy expenditure.
