30 Down, Still working on Self Esteem.

I am down 30 lbs today. It's hard for me to tell the change. Others have noticed but my low self image has made it very hard for me to notice any real change. I mean clothes fit better and I feel more healthy.

I don't feel unmotivated. I am stuck in how I am going to eat from now on. I haven't been able to exercise since Friday due to very long hours at work. I have found ways to take short one mile walks during the day but I got used to 3 miles a day and now I feel like a slacker.

I am not huge on posting pictures of myself or even taking pictures but I will post a couple here.

those are some very serious changes, my friend. i can see the difference from pic to pic. i can also see why you were high off of the rapid weight loss. it's a great feeling.

i think you're doing wonderfully. i want to see how you do with your full calories and all of that extra energy.

i know that the self-image situation can bring you down, but from me to you, i see the changes and they're fantastic!!

You are showing progress and doing great!

In terms of self esteem, its a long road..i think even longer than the actual weight loss process. However, slowly but surly you will start feeling better about yourself each day

    keep up the wonderful work!

I think "slowly but surly" is the funniest typo I've seen in awhile. :)

Good job, man. You're doing great. Keep your head up.

I've been where you are (and every now and again I'm still there). I look at myself in the mirror every day so I don't notice the changes. I more notice them when I put on old sweatshirts that hang to my knees or a pair of old pajama bottoms and they are nearly falling off. I mostly notice when I go out shopping for clothes. I still find myself picking up the larger size and grabbing the smaller size. I usually try on the larger size first and I'm always surprised when it doesn't fit. When you've been a larger person for most of your life that self esteem and how you see yourself can't change over night. Trust me you'll see the difference eventually even if you don't see it now. Some days I see it more than others and I have to keep telling myself there is a change and I can see it.

    Good luck!
