Bringing Dessert

I am having dinner at a friends house tonight. We are both watching what we eat and she asked me to bring a "healthy dessert." I'm stumped! I can't think of anything to bring! And the thing is, I didn't have time to make anything, and I'm going right after work, so it has to be something I can get at the grocery store. And it has to be enough to feed at least 7 people. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has ideas, let me know! Thanks!

Well.. I suppose strawberry shortcakes aren't TOO terrible. If you get the light whipped cream. maybe I'm lying. I don't know!

Or maybe you could just go with fruit and carmel dip or something.

    Glazed Sweet Pineapple

    2 slices fresh pineapple
    20g (3/4 oz) sugar
    20g (3/4oz) half fat butter
    1 tablespoon dark rum

Preheat grill and place foil over grill pan.
sprinkle sugar on the pineapple slices and grill 8 mins to caramelise. in small pan heat butter and rum. Serve the grilled pineapple with the rum sauce over. Yum. This serves two and is 115 calories per portion

Mug off the diet for the sake of one night out with friends. Just be extra good for the rest of the week to make up for the indulgence.

Everyone needs a little indulgence from time to time or we'd go crazy. With that in mind, I recommend either a strawberry pavlova or a chocolate mousse cake.
  • Fruit with a greek yogurt dip.
    Sugarfree fudgesicles/popsicles/whatever.
Angelfood cake isn't horrible for you but it isn't the greatest - so strawberry shortcake would do.
Everything on my mind involves some form of prep - not grocery pickup.

So I'd say fruit or a sugarfree (minus the dairy and fruit sugars, obviously) sorbet/icecream/etc.
