Can you build muscle under fat?

So I've been doing Turbo Jam for almost a month and a half, and some of the sessions use weights and bands, plus I do crunches and squats,I started off with about 115lbs to lose so it's safe to say I've got a stomach and flabby arms and thick thighs lol,so my question is while I"m using the weights to tone and the bands am I still building muscle under the fat? Once the extra weight is off will I be able to tell I've been using weights?

If fed proper nutrition and taken for some exercise now and then - muscles don't care if there is fat sitting on them or not.
Your muscles will likely get a bit more solid. Your largest gains will be the ability of your brain to properly USE said muscles.
But you still might gain a couple ounces here and there of muscle tissue.
  • Yes you can build muscle under fat! I did TurboJam last year and loved it! It may take time, but you'll see results, you can feel the muscles under the tissue getting stronger and the more cardio you do the fat will burn away. Just stick with it! Feel free to friend me if you need more support or have any other questions!

I like Turbo Fire, but no, the "strength" training done in it won't make you gain muscles.

Also, even with "heavy" strength training most individuals won't gain muscles while on a diet (except those very new to lift, those that are pretty over weight, or those returning to lifting after a layoff but the amount gained will be small anyway).

You've probably already got pretty nice muscles from carrying around the extra weight, but you need more intense weight training to really make them look great :)
