Hey guys!
am tired of being a weakling! I can barely do 5 pushups.
I want to start lifting weights, could someone give me a good beginning workout? I am not afrarid of lifting heavy, and I promise I don't own any pink dumbells.

I believe it's something like "Rules of Lifting for Women". Somebody will verify. My wife is doing "Stronglifts5x5" and she likes it a lot. Only thing she does different is add weight every week rather than every workout.0

How does she like 5x5? I'm thinking of giving it a try. Im already doing some of those moves I just need to push harder I guess...0 -

She loves doing the routine. The squats alone have been very beneficial. She had great legs before and she's improving on that.0 -

This is a great program. Otherwise if you go to bodybuilding.com you can input what you want and your body info and it will give you workouts to chose from.0 -
Yes - New Rules is a book. Lays out the entire process, workouts, the moves, timeframes, diet . . . pretty much covers EVERYTHING! I really like it because I am lifting-challenged. I had no clue where to begin. This book is a big help.0

my husband and i just started 5x5, we love it! We have done 5 days so far. It doesn't take that long at all- for both of us to do the workout, alternating, it takes total 45 minutes. So maybe shorter alone.
i just like how its so easy. We researched the 5 lifts on the internet and we reference it a lot for form. I alm already getting stronger and I am moving up with weight every time, just like he suggests.0 -
thanks for the info!:flowerforyou:0

I started with bodybuilding.com and loved it...and I'm on Stage 2 of New Rules of Lifting for Women (cheap on amazon.ca)...and I love that too...there's tons of forums on here for New Rules. It's comprehensive, challenging, and not at all intimidating. I would rather lift all day then do anything else lol0
