I thought I'd introduce myself, and I believe this is the correct place! This might be a little long. :P It's been a long journey...
I'm 27, started my weightloss journey at 275 lb in 2006. I'm 5'11, and I lost about 40 lbs the first year of exercising and eating less. I was really into Turbo Kickboxing at my gym. I was working out about 4-5 days a week, and I wasn't necessarily eating better, I was just eating less.
After losing 40 lbs, my cousin got me into running. I didn't follow any programs, and just ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes, walking 2 minutes, running 1 minute. I felt great, and eventually the running time increased and I started running at the park near my house. It has a 4 mile perimeter.
In 2008, I graduated college, and was into running MORE than ever. One of the girls I met at work was also into running, and I told her how I had a set a goal of running a half marathon before I turned 25. She told me about a running shop that had training sessions and we signed up for that together. It was great, I was running 6 miles without stopping, I seriously never felt better about myself. In Feb 2009, I completed my first (and currently only) half marathon. It was TOUGH! I couldn't walk the next day. I was at my lowest weight of 208. After that, I reconnected with one of my friends, and she was doing p90x. This is where my downfall began. I tried it for about a month and hated it. I hated working out at home. The program is great, it just wasn't for me. I stopped running in that month, and lost my drive. I started partying all the time with my friend, we drank and pigged out every weekend, and if i was lucky, I worked out 3 times a week. From end of 2009 - 2010, I gained almost 30 lbs back.
In 2011, my friend asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. I started getting somewhat serious about my weight loss. In July 2011, I signed up for a boot camp class that I had found through Groupon. I fell in love with this class. In 2011, I lost 20 lbs, and I'm currently at 212 lbs. I've been trying to get back into running and signed up for a half marathon that'll happen on September 2nd. I restarted my running schedule last week. So, my current workouts involve training for my half (5 days a week), and boot camp (4 days a week). There are three days where my workouts double up!
I'm trying to eat better, and trying to incorporate more protein into my diet. I'm currently sitting at 212 lbs, since I still haven't gotten my weekends under control. My current goal is to be in ONEderland, but my ultimate goal is to be 160lbs. I want to just be skinny, I want to be FIT. I'm ready to do this.
I hope I didn't bore you! :P
