Salmon

I love salmon, but the high calorie count really puts me off.
If I have dinner with cobbler or cod or haddock, like 250 calories or less for a few fillets.
It is that many just for a single salmon fillet.
Really annoying. I am hoping that because of the nature of it, the calories in salmon won't be too damaging as part of a healthy meal.

It depends how much the fillet weighs0

Generally about 120g per fillet.
Salmon seems to be about 220 per 100g. The white fish seems to average around 90-110 per 100g. Quite a difference.0 -
Salmon is honestly something people need to eat MORE of. Yes it is calorie dense but also nutrient dense.

An average serving of farmed Atlantic salmon grilled, about 3 ounces, has around 200 calories. Fresh has less, about 120. Not all salmon has to same amount, so maybe you could look into eating a different type?
And no, there is so much good in Salmon with the omega-3s, would not worry about it. Pair it with some steamed vegetables or a nice side salad. I have that as my dinner quite often :-)0 -

Sashimi.
If you like salmon, eating it raw is (in my opinion) even tastier. Like eating butter.
Sexy, sexy seaborne butter.0 -

This makes sense. I always buy wild salmon and it doesn't seem to have too many calories to me. I think 120 cals for 3 ounces is reasonable. I usually have around 6 ounces.0 -

If it is available to you eat wild Pacific salmon, it tastes much better than farmed Atlantic and it is better for you.0 -

And Wild Salmon doesn't swim around in its own poop. That's a bonus for me.0 -
