Too much protein?

Okay I started last week and the first week went decently, lost a few pounds yay! This is my first real attempt at paying attention tomy weight and I'm surprised to find that I'm eating more protein than I'd thought. Is this a problem? I'd always imagined myself as a carb fanatic so was surprised to be consistenlty getting more protein than I'd thought.
