Favorite Indie Movies

I really dislike most of the big Hollywood or New York movies. I mean, they're all right. But, they are so predictable and formula and it's just boring most of the time. But, I love the small indie movies. Last night I watched one called Breaking Upward. It was pretty good. I recommend it.

Any rec's for some good indie movies? You get bonus points if they are already on Netflix.

Secretary. Is this an indie movie? Stars James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. And I saw a good sci-fi one called Monster about a year ago.

'Oldboy' by Park Chan-wook. Violent, intense and one of my all time favorites. In fact, the whole Vengeance trilogy by Park is on Netflix.

    HIGHLY recommended.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil - on Netflix instant queue too.

edit: And I agree with that dude. Raiders of the Lost Ark was best. Bringing a gun to a knife fight, Nazi-face-melting spirits and snakes......gotta love it.

Let the right one in (original, not Hollywood remake)

    THESE.
I loved Let The Right One In, thought it was beautifully done and it was so touching.
The book was a real struggle to read, though

I really loved Martyrs, it was brutal but brilliant.
There are a few others but I'll have to rummage around my DVD shelves!
