Ok, so I see these shoes, right? They look funny and stuff, but then I got to thinking, those are probably great walking and running shoes. Then I remembered I go to this fitness site often, and thought the best way to get a good honest opinion on how these shoes are performance wise, and not just a testimonial, I should post it to the boards. So those that got the shoes, or those that want the shoes, speak up! Let your words be read! Now... is the time

I don't like the toe ones...but I have the Saucony Hattori's and they're basically the same thing just without the toes. Super lightweight, feels like I'm barefoot...I used to run using too much of my inner foot but I guess they've helped strengthen my feet because now I just run on the balls of my feet and don't have knee problems so much anymore.

If you like being barefoot: yes

If you like being incredibly comfortable: yes

If you want to put them on and run a 5k au naturale right off the bat: no

They're incredible shoes. I have 4 pair. You have to take it slooooow (and slower) at first if you want to run in them at all.

Walking will be fine, though you might have to ease into them a little too. I LOVE them for my strength training days. I used to wear them all the time but honestly got sick of people constantly asking about them.

Right. OR the New Balance minimus line. No toes, same effect.

i used to suffer from knee pain mostly occur when playing sports or running, so i wear this strap, one used by basketball athletes but after using for quite a long time, still my knee pain is there.

and so i read about and lean about the way we walk, about being a heel striker, proper walking/running and so comes the shoes. and the rest is history.

now i do my home workout barefooted. and if i would workout in the gym or run, i do wear the shoes.

if you haven't done this, you might feel awkward at first, so it takes time and some muscle activation for someone to eventually appreciate the shoe

I bought somd Vibrams about a month go. I never want to take them off. So I don't.

I've had knee issues since high school, with swelling and pain, and after changing my stride and form with the shoes, my knee has improved so much, even more than I had hoped for. Swelled again, but no pain, and no issues with running at all. Actually, the last time it swelled it only got to about half the size it always did (a grapefruit before), and the range of motion was at least 75% better.

Definitely ease into them if you get 'em, especially with running. I did all my other workouts barefoot already, so it was an easier transition, but my calves were a bit pissed.

I have the NB Minimus and I refuse to wear any other shoe now- ever. Won't do it and nobody can make me. Hmpf!

I tried on the Vibrams and my freaky Morton Toe of Awesome said 'no way jose', so off they came.

Here are my Minimus shoes- dang I love these shoes... love em!

I've got a pair of Fila Skeletoes and love them, they are the only shoe where my leg didn't go numb on the elliptical.

I bought Vibram FiveFingers when that was the only model they had... bought it online and used their conversion.. I don't think I ended up with the right size, it's supposed to be less uncomfortable after 2 weeks, but still was not comfortable and they said they wouldn't take refunds. I'd only consider them in the future if they have a local store I can go and get fitted right and not get screwed.

I have had my vibrams now for a couple weeks and absolutely love them. You have to get your feet and calves used to them for sure. I will never were other shoes unless I have to for work. They are that great!
