Iv decided to give up on the scales and for now just stick to appearance and how my clothes fit, thanks to the advice iv recieved from here.

i am only going to weight myself at the most once a week and hopefully this will help boost my confidence as when i lose the weight i feel immesley proud and then when i go back on to weight myself after lots of hard work it knocks me a little that i have put weight on even though i have tried really really hard and then this pushes me towards eating junk and wanting to give up as it seems there is no point.

But even thought the scales say im putting on weight this could just be muscle as my wist has dropped 2inches, my clothes fit a lot better and i bought a jacket the other day in my normal size and a week later its quite big on me.

so i'm starting from fresh this time not worrying too much about the scales
good luck to everyonce else:happy:

good choice my friend. Scales are demons sent from hell to torture us and make us crazy!

I agree. If you focus on better eating habits and getting physically fit, you'll eventually reach whatever realistic goal you've set for yourself. It's about feeling better - not just about looking better.
And congrats on the 2" drop in waist size. See? You're doing something right.
  • Scales are only happy things when they show smaller numbers. So weighing less frequently gives them a better chance to do that by indicating REAL weight lost rather than just showing the little fluctuations. Keep plugging away! We'll all get where we wanna be if we just keep going! :drinker:

I'm with you 100%....I've been stuck for the last 3 weeks at my current weight even though I exercise every day at least 2 hours. However, I've lost 3" from my chest, 2" from my stomach, 2 1/2" from my waist...so on since last month. That scale is the most torturous device ever invented.

Congrats on your inch loss! :flowerforyou:

Maybe don't even weigh once a week...??????

I went for YEARS and years without a scale, and not having one didn't make me gain weight.
