Stephen King's New Dark Tower "Stand Alone Book"

I was in Barnes & Nobles today on my lunch and about fainted when I saw the cover of "The Wind through the Keyhole: A Dark Tower Novel" staring back at me on the "New Arrivals: Best Sellers Hardcovers" stand.

Has anyone picked it up and had a chance to read it yet? Is it on par with the first six books. Does it make you forget what happened at the end of book seven (which will not be mentioned here [for fear of losing my lunch])? I am a die-hard Stephen King fan, but sometimes the man drives me cracee with what he does in his books [see above].

Help a brother out!!!

I got about 300 pages left in 11/22/63!! I pick it up about twice a week and carve out about 25-30 pages each time...usually when I am waiting on a meeting or something... definitely not the normal Stephen King....and one of his BEST!!!

Just ran to Amazon and checked out the reviews and they are pretty favorable. This may be a mother's day present! (gotta finish the other series I'm in the middle of first!)

Thank you for posting this. I didn't know he was writing this until I got a note from Barnes & Noble this morning. Hmmmm, it comes between between Wizard and Glass and Wolves? My fingers are crossed that its good. Loved 11/22/63.... fantastic!

Oh thanks for reminding me...I read about this book before it came out and forgot about it FORGOT! I'm such a SK fan, and the Tower series is amazing, I wonder how it will be!

And like another poster mentioned I also loved the last book (the Kennedy one) actually theres very few SK books that I don't like, or love, he writes people extremely well.

I ordered my husband a leather-bound, illustrated, collector's edition of 'The Wind Through the Keyhole' for Valentine's Day. (of course, the book came much later - sometime in March).

He read it in less than a week and said it was excellent!
  • Ohhhhhh!! * Squee*

I have this on my kindle (i preordered it). If you are a DT fan like me then reading this book is like sitting down with an old friend that you love and miss. I personally dont see how it can stand alone, but I definitely see how it fits between 4 and 5.
When I was done I actually started it all again from the beginning and I am going to read this all the way though for the 5th time :D
