*AND NOTE: IF YOU’RE EATING 1200 OR LESS CALORIES EACH DAY AND LOSING WEIGHT, THEN I GUARANTEE THAT YOUR BODY IS EATING AWAY AT YOUR MUSCLES, SLOWING DOWN YOUR METABOLISM, AND PUTTING YOURSELF ON TRACK FOR AN EARLY GRAVE*
If I had read this years ago when I started using MFP and it set me to 1200 calories a day...this would have scared me enough that I would have adjusted my calories much better, but I knew nowhere near as much as I do now. I'm so happy to be eating healthier within my BMR calorie range and my body really appreciates it!

Thanks, I needed this info. Just hitting my first plateau.
  • Oh and how do you set this up in MFP

    Alrighty then... That helps!
MPF says 1200/day, my BMR says 2208/day. Should I stay in between these in order to loose weight?? I've been trying to stay UNDER 1200kcals for a while, eventhough I exercised... That explains why I've reached the plateau! I just have to eat more, to weigh less?

This man knows of what he speaks! I follow that exact plan (on the advice of my kick *kitten* trainer). I eat 1400 calories a day in small intervals, I do crazy intense boot camp classes and always choose the heaviest free weights I can handle and I get 60-75 grams of protein a day. I'm 35 years old and weigh 95 pounds. It's true, everything he says is true.
