What is an exercise belt?

I have read a few posts lately that mention ecercise belts.

I dont know what they are, what they do or what they are made out of, or even when to wear one.

I dont remember ever seeing one here is OZ, is it an american thing?

If it can help my tummy I want to know about it!

    A lot of people talk about heart rate monitor "belts".. and then there are also belts used for weightlifting to help your back. And thosse ones that shock your stomach electrically. Could be any number of things really...

    It is a belt that you wear around your belly when you exercise, it's supposed to help you lose weight around your middle by making the area "sweat" more.

    I personally wouldn't waste my money, but everyone is different.
