*I* DID IT!
I actually did it! I ran 5K! BY MYSELF! I had no help from C25K - I've been interested with the idea - so I thought before I download the app to see if I could just time my runs/mileage. I downloaded Endomondo last year wanting to get fit, life happened and my BlackBerry kept crapping out and I kept getting replacement phones and I never reinstalled the app til today. Within the last week, I'd been running as fast as I could and really being aware of my stopping and pain tolerance - I'd want to quit as soon as my side or abdomen hurt but told myself I couldn't quit and pulled thru. I wanted to see/measure my time and I was really curious about how far my runs really were - I ran a long stretch of road and didn't know how far it really was - well I found out that I was running at least 6K every time I ran, which in the last week has been 3-4 time each time my endurance increasing a little. I ran thru the whole first 1km stopping once and kept an 8:48 pace thruout. With Endo's tracking, my last k was the hardest tapping at almost 12, but I did it! I'm so proud of myself. I had no help, other than my own willpower and Pandora to keep me on track. I will be signing up for a 5k as soon as I am able to! I am so proud, proud isn't even the word. I did it. NO ONE helped me. This is my biggest accomplishment in my life thus far, I am at my ultimate largest at 160, being only 5'2" - and for me to accomplish this without any real help at my largest, amazes me. I just had to tell someone! For those doing C25K, you can do it to! My C25K goal is 26 mins. And that's a lot less, but I know I can do it! Thanks for reading.

Great job! I've never been a runner myself, but I walked my first 5K last weekend, and seeing all those runners out there is inspiring me to pick up the pace for my NEXT 5K.0

That's awesome! I wasn't a fan of C25K so I kinda just did my own thing till I could run 5K as well. (It's a good program, I just like to do things my own way)0

Awesome!
Great job.
Yesterday I ran my first 5k without stopping or walking.
10 minute miles.
Feels F-ing great. Did it all on my own.
One thing I will say to help you jog the whole way without stoping-
take the first mile or 2 slow. Every time you think about it, slow down your pace. Try to run at a speed where you can breath almost normal and could even have a conversation if you had to. As soon as you start to feel like you are going beyond that, just slow down a bit. I also find that alternating my stride and feet a little every once in awhile changes things. Like sometimes I come down heel-toe and sometimes I run on the balls of my feet, sometimes I even try to bring my knees up high and kind of spring off the balls of my feet. I will even play with holding my arms and hands at different heights. I think all these things break me out of the constant focus and making my body lock in one position when hitting the ground, kind of breaks up the monotony.0 -

That's awesome! Thanks for the tips...haha, I'm obviously over eager but, all those tips are useful and it's reality - I really need to slow down and you gave good ideas on changing them up!0 -
the last 5k I did, I basically ran the first mile in 7 minutes, then walked 1 mile, then jogged the last one. Granted I did it in 28 minutes but I really wanted to start jogging and then running the whole thing.
someone told me about "negatives"
where you do runs that start out really slow and then at the end you run really fast.
this helped me think about my 5k a little different.
another thing you can do, if you are going to walk part of the 5k, do more than 5k. Most professional athletes train for their competitive distance by doing MORE than what they plan to do in competition.0
