Goal weights

Does anyone feel like a lot of girls on here have unrealistic goal weights? That they are too obsessive over calories and salt and everything?! That they think they need to burn 1000 calories a day?

It is so discouraging to me to see so many girls that have gone from wanting to get healthy to being obsessed. I remember when I was at my lowest weight I got obsessed and just wanted to lose more and more and more. I was eating around 900 calories a day and working out for a couple hours. Running, yoga, and weight training.

I hope this time I can keep with the healthy habits and not end up at unreasonable lengths to be "thin".

Also, who reslisticly has time for that much working out and weighting and logging of food? I did during the summer I got obsessed. Girls, find a hobby... get a job.... do something but don't aim for 100 lb goal weights.

And someone people slap me with verbal insults if they ever see me trying to get my weight under 130.

I'll make a goal of like 10 or 15 lbs at a time but im just losing until im comfortable I've never been a healthy weight so I dont know where my body is going to look healthy or Im going to feel healthy .. sometimes you just gotta go with the flow don't obsess and dont make tons of goals because its much more stressful that way.

My question is, how many of them ACTUALLY had the goal of being healthy in the first place? From what I've observed, it seems like most of them just are in that mindset in the first place -- not that they necessarily become obsessed later on. Although I do understand that the "high" associated with weight loss/increased attention/etc. can have a negative affect and fuel the fire, but I tend to think those who are so easily swayed were already headed in that direction in the first place.

I've noticed that too! I can't phantom wanting to be 80, 90, or 100lbs as adults. Unless you are severely under 5ft you should never aim for that! I can't believe we think too "fat" is ugly, but too skinny is not. I will not go under 125 ever, and I'm planning to stay at 130 when I get there. We will never look like the Photoshopped creatures in magazines, and we should not aim for that. I mean I was never a size 0, not even in 5th grade @ 75lbs . Why should I try to be that now?
