I've been meaning to take pictures of myself for a couple days now. Ever since I saw someone say it was one of the best ways to help motivate yourself. Well I just took a front profile and a side profile and when I look at the picture.... first it makes me sad because in my mind I don't look quite like that. Is it only because I avoid the mirror or only take glimpses at myself. I know I'm a beautiful person no matter what but I feel less sexy all of sudden.*sigh*

Sexy is a state of mind! This is to see the changes in your body only. I took the picture but won't look at it for a while. Until I think that nothing is happening.

I know it is a frame a mind and like most women I have my good and bad days. Usually I think I'm sexy buy after looking at those... it just changed my frame of mind for a bit.

Good suggestion to not look at them for awhile . Thanks! :)

I took pictures 60 days ago and the other day I happened to look at them again and thought to myself there is NO way in hell I still look like that. I was getting upset because the scale has only moved 6lbs, than I took a pic yesterday and compaired it and saw how my body has changed.

I tried to do this and when I had a look i got really upset because I didn't think I looked like that. I heard it was great for motivation but I just got upset and angry at the time that I let myself get like thats.

Do I want to try and do it again and do monthly pictures to check my progress hmmmm I'm in 2 minds at the moment.

Is it something you can change?
If it's your weight, use the way you're feeling to spur you on.
If it's anything else, then I agree with PP- Sexy is a state of mind. I'm a big fan of positive affirmation. Write down 5 things you like about yourself and whenever you feel unattractive or unsexy (is that a word?), dig your list out of your purse or whatever and use it to boost you back up.
Learn to love yourself and let go of the things you can't change. If you can change it, then what are you waiting for? :)

    ETA: forgot a word. D'oh.

I didn't do this, but I have pictures from before I lost weight all over the place. No after having lost over 50 pounds I can see the difference and it is awesome. Skip taking a before picture you already have enough of that and just wait three months and take a look at the results.

I took a whole profile picture about 5 days ago. I cried.... alot.

I didnt know what I looked like from behind and lets just say my crying turned into anger real fast and im using that to fuel my change. Ive dropped 66 pounds but im not done yet. Im determained to keep going and feel this place is a great place to have support and meet people who struggle just like me!

My heaviest was my wedding day and I have to keep those pics no matter what. My goal it to get to my ideal weight and get new wedding pictures done :)! that is great motivation for me!

I think if you are going to take pictures dont look at them all the time just keep them in a file and look at them every X amount of weight etc and remind yourself how far you come!
