I have come to the conclusion that in order to have any idea what my metabolism is doing I need to get a HRM. I do interval training, free weights, elliptical and SWIMMING! Are there any HRMs that work for swimming or am I still going to have to estimate that particular exercise?

I think most HRMs are waterproof. I have a polar HRM and it is says it is good for 30 meters. Just read the label first and make sure it can handle being in the water. You should be ok.0

The man next to me had one on today. Its probably a good idea if you use swimming as cardio b/c I highly doubt the calories burned from myfitness is right. I think its hard to get and keep your heart rate up to burn alot of calories. I swim 3 days a week but I cycle or run after it and I just count the calories burned from the run or cycle0
