Best protein powder?

It doesnt matter how many grams. What matters is how much is absorbed.
So what peer reviewed studies do you have that back this up and what is the comparative absorption rate of Vi products with the other products mentioned? Not propaganda from drinking the Vi cool aid but real objective studies that substantiate what you've said.

So, I'm guessing not. You just come on here with unfounded statements and propaganda that you can't back up.0 -
Thanks. Bump0

You'll get one as soon as the Visalus overlords make up the info and communicate the info back down to them for all to spread0 -

Then it would not be peer reviewed would it!? Sorry for you who were hoping to find out the difference. I can tell you what it is and I think it was fit_canuck that posted the details but the Vi product is light on protein and full of additive junk for which they charge a premium. The whole absorbtion rate stuff is bull. Bottom line is it's an inferior product at a premieum price that only benefits the wallets of those who pawn it off on unsuspecting dupes. That's the facts no matter how much Susie Sunshine says what a wonderful product it is. She's either brainwashed or lying or both.0 -
I love GNC's lean shakes. 25 grams of protein and are so yummy!0
-
BSN Syntha-6 in Chocolate with 22g of protein without milk. A little pricey, but I got it on sale and it is pretty yummy:)0

LOVE Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel (peach)0

I myself use Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein...Vanilla is my fav, and if I remember right its 14dollars at Walmart. 140 cal, 1gram sugar and 26g of protein.0

This is not a powder but I use New Whey Liquid Protein - the 42 gram of protein size has 0 carbs, 0 fat and is 180 calories and comes in different flavors. It comes in an unbreakable plastic tube weighing 3.8 ounces so it's easy to consume and travels well. I get mine from The Vitamin Shoppe.0

I JUST tried some. I got the Acai and it was so darn good. I hate water and struggle to get in enough fluid. I used it to flavor my water today and probably drank 48-50 ounces. I did great today! My body's not going to know what to do with all this water for a change. Too pricey for a daily thing though I think.0 -
For those of you comparing by scoop or "serving" size:
It depends on the size of the scoop or "serving".
Don't be mislead by marketing.
It's better to go by protein per 100 grams.0 -
I've been drinking gnc lean shake 25 and love it but want to try something new for after the workout. Thanks for the suggestions.0

There are no magic food items that make you lose or gain weight. It doesn't matter what you eat. Just log accurately and stay within your allowance. If you do that, you'll lose weight.
Just make sure you measure accurately.
Cups are the devil's measure - you can fool yourself about the amount.
With food scales, you can't fool yourself about the amount.
Do you have digital scales?0 -
I'm a huge fan of dymatize elite!! It tastes better than any brand I've tried (actually it's just flat out delicious) and has won all kinds of awards for flavor. More importantly though, it has the full range of amino acids that are required for muscle building and repair. This is what sets it apart from brands like muscle milk0

I like the Pure Protein Frosty chocolate. Casein is good, but more expensive than food, which works the same whey. ( Pun intended )
I gauge it by how I feel after I drink it. Works for me.0 -
Proventive Nutritional Therapies Harmonized Vegan Protein Vanilla
I love this I have done a lot of research on Protein powders- I chose this one because it does not use any casein its 100% vegan formula has both essential and non-essential amino acids. Each serving contains 25 grams of complete protein and is ideal for anyone wishing to increase their protein intake while avoiding soy, dairy, or animal source proteins.0 -
I like Puro Nutrition's Diet Whey Ultra.0
-
I use Whey Protein Isolate- and that is the only ingredient. I love it. I looked on line and NOW has whey protein isolate too. I like the powders without all the added junk. Find one with as little ingredients as possible.0

Most protein powders contain the same amount of protein. If one label reads 40 grams per serving and another 30 grams you can bet the former requires a bigger scoop to get the 40 grams.0

Ryn,
This one will run and run, but for highest protein/lowest carb/easiest mix/decent taste I think you'll find Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard is the best. I like the double rich chocolate, mixed with 1/2 almond milk and water.
This is an Amazon link for what I get, but I'm not affiliated with either Amazon or OM, I just use 'em.

There's a lot of total phooey out there, and some are very expensive indeed.
This , I've had these and they work great any flavor taste awesomel.
TBH you really don't need protein if your diet is good it's just extra..

Are you looking to seriously bulk up or do you just want to add more protein to your diet because you don't always have time to make a full meal? If it's the latter (since I am not a serious body builder), I started using ReserveAge Grass-fed Organic Whey Protein in Vanilla. It tastes great, is not loaded with a bunch of unpronounceable ingredients, and has 20g of protein per scoop. The first time I had it I did not enjoy the sweetness factor of the stevia leaf (they use that in place of sugar, brown rice syrup, maltitol, etc.) but when I had it a second time I did not notice it tasted as sweet. I usually use organic almond milk or rice milk, one banana, and either frozen blueberries or strawberries. Enjoy!0

In my experience it's been Unjury, the basically medical protein powder. I like the unflavored kind so you can mix it in anything, hot or cold, and it has no real taste to it, just adds protein to whatever you want. www.unjury.com
unflavored unjury:
90 calories for 1 scoop or a packet
0g fat
0g sugar
0g carbs
21g protein0 -
anything from Now Foods
no artificial anything and no fillers0 -
Hemp Protein!!!!! 100% plant derived and nothing else added. Read the label on any whey protein product and actual check what all the other additives are. Whey is a left over bi-product of the dairy industry and hence an animal based protein. Your ingesting everything they ever ingested or were injected with. It generally has to be flavored and sweetened just to make it palatable. It also doesn't agree well with those whom are lactose intolerant.
Hemp protein naturally contains all of the known amino acids including all the essentials. It has omega 3 and 6 in the correct 3:1 ratio and also contains omega 9. It is a complete protein and also taste good naturally. It has a mild nutty taste that is almost undetectable when blended into a drink or add to a meal. It is 70% albumen, which is the protein in egg whites and completely digestible by humans. Although it has less protein per serving than some others, being fully digestible with nothing else added, more than makes up the difference!!!!0 -
How about the plain whey isolate at Sprout's? Its a bulk health food store and I can afford 12.99 a lb!0

Rats, never mind. My Mom is allergic to milk and I want something that will help her too.0
