Good morning everyone!
Welcome back CP! You were missed!
I have decided to raise my cals back to 1400, but I think I am going to use it more to keep me in check than anything else - not so much as a rule. I am also going to clean up my eating. More and more I realize I am an emotional eater. My goal is to eat more "natural" foods and eat out less. We usually eat out on Sundays after church, and then get dessert once or twice a month. It's not so much a treat for me anymore to eat out or get dessert.
Today's goals:
taebo
eat better
drink water
pay attention to my fullness level
Beautiful day boogaloo!
MM

CP - let us know all about your trip - It's like what V calls food porn, except it's travel porn. Did you go to Powell's Books?

Went to yoga class yesterday and walked on the treadmill. Got reprimanded for drinking water in yoga. I always thought that was silly - I just don't get into the more new age stuff with yoga. I think Kegel exercises are important and if you want to call them a bhanda, that's fine.

Today we are getting our AC worked on - so I have to turn it off 4 hours before guy comes out. I'm definitely going to the gym today. We do not have a day that is going to be under 100 in the 10 day forecast - which is bad, even for us. Also going to yoga tonight.

Kitty is getting put to sleep tomorrow morning - sigh. It's his time though, but it's going to be a rough 2 days.

    Travel Boogaloo!

Sorry about your kitty Mary. People keep making comments about us needing to get rid of my kitty because Alex is allergic. It's not that easy and people don't get it. Alex is fine as long as he doesn't stick his face in her fur. I am realizing she is getting older and I need to let go some. I hope you find peace and comfort over the next couple of days. :frown:

I think I'm going to take a break from counting calories. For several reasons. One of the main ones is I'm counting calories and not losing weight. So, this means that I may be finding ways to lie/guesstimate and then coming up short in calorie goals and then I end up overeating.

I'm going to concentrate instead on what I eat instead of how much. Trying to do real food exclusively, with maybe one or two treats a week.

I need to shake it up a bit, because this feeling deprived/restricted and still gaining sucks. I also have a gyno appointment this week, so I'm going to ask direct and assertive questions about this issue. I'm frustrated.

Today is drinking my waters and a training session.

I'm so sorry about your cat, Mary. I think MM said it better than I could.

Mary, I'm so sorry about your sweet kitty. :(

Another crazy weekend, another resolution to get back on a program.

It's not that I've been overeating, just skipping meals and exercise, or eating late at night, or generally not doing as well with my program as I should be.

I'm off to the gym right now before I lose momentum, then will be working in the garden then yoga tomorrow. I'm starting my new job on Friday so I'll be out of town for 2 weeks, filming in Detroit, then back in L.A. and hopefully working on a regular schedule.

I had a HUGE garage sale yesterday and got rid of tons of stuff! I can't tell you how good it felt.

    Monday boogaloo!

    Today:
    ~ Cardio
    ~ Vitamins
    ~ More water!

Mary, I am so sad for you. I know it's something we all have to go through as pet owners, but that doesn't make it any easier.

We weren't in Portland at all this time, so no Powell's. It is a fabulous place, though - and there's a separate branch not far from the main store that just focuses on science and technology books. Very fun. We were mostly in and around Coos Bay, where my MIL lives and hubby grew up. The weather was quite cool (sorry, Texans), and a little cloudier than I was hoping. But not too much rain. The house is out in the country on a big hill covered with huge Douglas fir trees (and which backs up to more forest). There are hummingbirds that live up there and they have feeders all around the porch - it was so much fun just to sit out there with a cup of coffee and watch them swoop and dive and flit around. My only 'workout' was jogging up and down that hill a few times - which was really tough! Jogging on a steep hill is totally not what I am used to. It took me about 10 minutes to go down and up and I would do 2-3 laps, plus walking to warm up/cool down. We also went hiking around the forest, walking on the beach, and hiking up to some nearby waterfalls. Oh, and I did pushups a couple of times.

V, I hope your hard drive is OK. I was super paranoid about backups while I was finishing up my degree - towards the end I was copying everything to 2-3 places at the end of every night! And MM, I'm sorry they got your hopes up about timing for the adoption only to be delayed again. WL - I am jealous of your garage sale! I seriously need to dump a lot of stuff that I have been dragging around since college.

I feel like a few of us are in similar boats right now! I am feeling really chubby today, and I definitely indulged a bit while we were gone (good stuff, mostly, but more wine than usual and big portions). I can't decide whether to start logging my food again, or cut out sugar, or try eating just half of my food and waiting, or what. I briefly got under 150 around my birthday, but was back up to 154 this morning. Ugh. Time to set some new goals and figure out how to meet them.

    Goal setting boogaloo!
