strength training

I just started this program yesterday. My exercise yesterday was strenth training. Sit ups, dumbells, ankle weights etc. My question is after I entered in my exercise log it didn't give me "credit" for it. Today I used my elliptical and got extra calories for it (which I did not use all of). Strength training burns calories too, so why does it not count? Did I enter it incorrectly?
