I have one, and love it. If your primary activity will be walking it is a great choice. I bought mine 5 weeks ago and have walked over 150 miles since getting it highly motivational. It syncs with MFP pretty seamlessly. If walking isn't your thing it may not be good for you.
Check out the fitbit group before you purchase.0 -
LOVE IT!!! So motivating! Works best with walking/stair climbing type activities. I find the sleep tracker really interesting too.0

I agree with the other posts. Its very motivating. I love the sleep tracking function and stair-climbing. I think its worth the money, if you walk a lot.0

I've been considering getting one too but saw a review saying it can't be switched off when you are travelling so it logs car/bus journeys as exercise too? I do most of my exercise at the pool too and assume they can't be worn in water?0

They cant be worn in water but you can log your exercis onto MFP for the times you were swimming & the MFP calories will adjust onto Fitbit.
When driving or travelling, you are at a standstill so will just be burning as if you are sedentary.
You really shouldnt let these 2 things put you off.
I find it helpful to analyse my sleep pattern, to see exactly when im burning & how much - it gives you a truer picture of your activity level daily & as the others have said, a great motivational tool, to get up and do more.0 -
Oh thanks! I think you may have talked me into buying one after all :-)0

I love my fitbit! I wear it 24 hours a day only removing it when I shower! It motivates the heck out of me! I have walked 340 miles this year and hope to hit over 1500 miles by the end of the year. My fitbit keeps me moving like crazy!0

Nope, it does count it, each bump in the road. I wore it one weekend, it had me having walked up 309 flights of stairs, and I'd walked up and down my one flight of stairs maybe twice, it was from the driving0 -

It's all in where you wear them...if I wear mine in the middle of my bra it doesn't count the driving at all. Even if it does you can log the time on Fitbit as "driving" and it will make the adjustment.
I love mine!0 -
It counts mine in my super bumpy older Jeep. But not in my brand new work truck.
Also counted steps driving in a golf cart.
Hopefully you have a smooth ride.
And whenever I drive I just go to fitbit and log when I was driving as a "driving" activity and it takes away the fake progress and steps.
But other than that, I love it!0 -
I love mine too.
As for the driving thing, that is super easy to fix. Start the timer before you start driving, and stop it again before you get out of the vehicle. That creates a record which you can then use to log the activity "Driving" on the FitBit site. FitBit will automatically zero out all of the false steps and stairs recorded during that time period. Manually enter 0 for the calories.0 -
i got one thanks and loving it0
