Motivation level just been shot to hell

So, I am VERY proud of my progress and I know that it's very noticeable to me and others. But, I just saw a picture of myself and holy hell it was unflattering. It's a recent pic and I am roughly the same weight as I was then but I look way bigger, whereas in other recent pics of myself I look alot slimmer.
Anyone else have this happen? I am so not giving up, but I tell you, that was just NOT what I was hoping for!
Sorry, just feeling sorry for myself, anyone care to join the pity party?

Same, I saw my reflection in a glass door or something at the store and started praying that it was warped...0

you cant do that to yourself.. its like reading a book in progress .. you proof read and keep on going..
the positive on this is that if you were satisfied with yourself you might slack off
i am sure you look much better than you really think.. dont worry , you are a beautiful woman and we all treasure your friendship0 -

Try to remember that different angles and lighting will affect even the best picture. If nothing else look at the picture as more motivation instead of defeating you. I often have those moments where I look at a picture or even just a mirror and don't see what I thought I should be and it does hit my motivation but I then look at where I've come from and continue on. Keep up the hard work and stay positive. :flowerforyou:0

I hear you! I did a zumba class for the first time with mirrors today....not a good thing! I looked awful!!! I'm sure it's just the wrong angle or messed up perception, but boy did it ruin my day!
Cheer up girl! There is always tomorrow for better pictures!0 -
It's hard when you haven't quite reached your goal yet, but think of the success--you've lost over 30 lbs! That is seriously impressive. Sometimes when I hit a milestone I will pick up something heavy (weights at the gym or so) and FEEL how much weight I'm no longer carrying around. You'll get there!0

I don't think you can lose 34 lbs and still look the same. It really does take a while for your brain to adjust to the newer you. What you see and others see will be very different for a while. Keep doing what you're doing, when you mind finally wraps itself around what you've accomplished you'll be blown away!0

I hear you! I really never like any picture of me. I know I look better, but the camera still hates me. ARGH! Those voices in my head won't shut up.
My reflection is better because I'm always surprized that the normal-sized woman is me. I used to hate catching my reflection.
I am sure it is just my issues that make me hate my pictures. A friend once told me when I complained about a bad picture, "Wait five years and you'll love that photo." LOL, she had a point.0 -
I know I haven't lost much (3 lb. woohoo.) but on monday I was feeling pretty good about myself. Until the guy two rows in front of me at the baseball game took a pic of him and his gf. I looked down right as he was uploading it to FB and there I was, all GINORMOUS in the background. I seriously considered tackling him and deleting the pic. Oh well I guess0

Charts and Graphs Baby! I take photos, measure, weigh, check % body fat, and sometimes use Ketosticks, all in an effort to be able to have some "measurable" progress for those times when photos, mirrors, and "friends" lie. Damnable Lies!0

Same thing happened just the other day. I was working out and saw myself at a weird angle in a mirror and couldn't believe it... I was having an emotional day so I stopped and considered crying and eating nutella. Then I realized if I want change, there's only one option. Keep. Going.0

Maybe nutella after the workout0 -
I agree with it could have a lot to do with the angle, setting and lighting! Haven't you ever been clothes shopping and in one store you look fab in the changing rooms and in the next you look gross!! Could also be how your mind set is, like in the morning you feel happy so look good, in the afternoon something happens to make you feel blue and hey you suddenly look awful!! Hope you get my drift lol. Keep your pecker up sweetie you look beautiful to me0

i've only lost 17lbs so i really dont see much a difference when i look in the mirror and it can get discouraging0

I find that it used to look alot different before when I lost weight but this time I am so heavy that 23 pounds does not make much of a dent. Keep going ! They say that losing 5-10% of your weight makes a big difference in your health. Just think bcause there are 4 sticks of butter in a pound- you have lost over one hundred sticks of butter. Next time at you are at the supermarket, look in the baking aisle - look at 30 pounds worth of flour or sugar - that is alot!0
