Shall I take his advice?

I was talking to a very experienced runner this morning and I explained that I currently running/walking about 10k per week.
He advised that I should up my game a little and try 1 minute walking followed by 1 minute running for as long as I can each session in order to get my weight loss moving again. Does anyone out there do this and how many times a week as I don't want to overtrain or cause any injuries.

hes talking about HIIT its a much better method for burning fat than steady paced cardio is I would agree with him, I think every other day is pretty good for running, its unhealthy for your joints to do high impact cardio every day0

Yes, he definitely talking about HIIT. One minute and one minute seems a little long. I would say maybe split between a 10-15 all-out sprint and a 30 - 60sec jog. If you have an actual track to run on you can always sprint the curve and jog / walk the straight-away. It makes running long distance go by quicker actually but the other poster is correct in that you don't want to do it all the time. Split it up between steady state low impact cardio and HIIT.0 -
