A glass of water counts as a glass of water. Caffeine causes different chemical reactions within the body.

    Drink water.

I believe as long as it isn't carbonated, or caffeinated. And of course full of sugar, that it counts. So, I'm unsure about tea. Though I know green tea is good for you.

basically if it's a diuretic then it doesnt count. Even watermelon has water in it, and grapes etc. just try to think about how much those are worth (watermelon is 90% water or something along those lines) so if you eat enough watermelon (it would have to be A LOOOT) then in theory you wouldnt need to drink any water.

but yea diuretics like caffeine and high sugar are NOT considered in your water intake.

I have done a lot of research in to this very question. I have found out that only in the last few years that coffee and tea are concidered part of your water intake. I have included a link to just 1 of the articles that I have found and I think that it explains it very well.
Just copy and paste the link into your browser.

I don't drink anything with caffeine, sugar, carbonation, or artificial sweetener

I was just wondering this, I drink pepermint tea all day (along with my water) and wondered if I could cut down on my water a bit, I'm spending all day in the bathroom!!
