Kibble envy?

Apart from liking my sweets just a little too much, I've isolated 'kibble envy' as one of my major issues. I usually cook enough for 2 meals (stems from the time of living on my own) so I can put it away and eat later. But the eating it later part is difficult, since, around my husband, food tends to disappear...
This has led to my eating things I like until nothing is left, so I will not go back to the fridge and find it gone. I find it really hard to quit eating when I am not hungry anymore, just because in my head it's my last chance to have it.
I've started cooking less and cutting my portions in half to start with (that way seconds only add up to one normal portion). I am also trying to be more aware of when I ought to be done eating, just sometimes I don't care...
I am not trying to blame my husband, just observing my behaviour and motivation. He knows how I feel about things disappearing that I had planned for a meal, and he has got better.
Anyone else struggling with this? Got any advice/strategies on how to deal with this?

Yes! I share a house with my mother and my daughter and seems like they are always taking my leftovers. I solve this by putting my second (and/or third portions) into single serving ziplock containers and placing in the freezer. They will not go to the trouble of searching the freezer for leftovers.0

Maybe try making more??? I know it sounds strange...
but if you were to make extras for leftovers and divide it into 2 portions
put them in containers and write your name on one and his on the other...
then you both get the yummy leftovers...and he might not steal yours0 -
Put it in an opaque container labeled "Brussels sprouts".0

I make enough to feed 4-6 people and there's only two of us..... great for lunches or 2nd night dinner.
Some food has ended up in the trash, but some gets frozen for later consumption (clevah girl)
At least you've identified a problem and can work on correcting it. ^_^0 -
Put a piece of tape on each tupperware and label it 'leftovers - eat' or 'do not eat' ... and yes, cooking more portions may help. Men need to eat more than women typically, so I make four portions of each meal. I have one portion, my fiancee has a portion and a half, and I split the last portion and a half in to two smaller sized portions for my lunches.0

Lmao, I've actually hidden stuff in the milk bag, or underneath the veggies...
I'm trying to get a grip on myself though, more than stopping him eating it...
I just can't get over my 'gotta have it! Mine, Mine, MINE!!!' - mindset...0
