Please eat. A ww soup is not a meal.
You need to EAT!! You're going to get sick otherwise, I'm sure your future husband would prefer you to be healthy.
PLEASE EAT at least 1200 calories.
You are in negative net some days. That's just incredibly bad.
Yep0 -
OMG girl EAT MORE!!! you should be eating a minimum of 1200 calories a day (thats net calories)
You body is now used to only running on 700 calories, you need to mix up your diet not just your exercise!0 -
This was just posted today and I think you should maybe take a look at it.
Good luck to you! And I do agree with everyone else... Eat more to lose!

YOU NEED TO EAT MORE CALORIES!!!0
-
Your body is saying, "SCREW YOU! FEED ME AND WE'LL TALK."0
-
In addition to what most everyone has said, it's just not sustainable. You can't eat like a bird forever, and when you start eating regular food, you'll pack on pounds if you don't treat your body right. I learned the hard way, and now I eat what I want and stay within my calorie alotment.0
-
No wonder, your body is holding on to everything for alll it's worth. FEED THE MACHINE ALREADY!0
-
If your diary is in fact correct, I recommend you go out NOW and get you some fish and chips. You got 1200 calories remaining, for Pete's sake.0

I agree you should add more calories but I would also suggest adding more meals. I have read so many times that eating 5-6 small meals a day really helps boost the metabolism. It's really true, it keeps your body to have fuel so it works harder! Serious athletes, body builders, fitness models will eat 5-6 meals a day- small meals. If you really just want to eat 3 meals a day- then add 2 protein shakes along with your meals, drink one as a snack or as pre/post workouts. You can buy them pre-made at GNC, Wal-Mart, etc if you don't have the time to make the shakes yourself. So you get the extra calories and still eating your 3 meals because you'll be drinking the two shakes. :laugh:0

I have a very hetic life and my main goal is to eat three main meals which i have been doing, i have been told that if you eat the three main meals then a diet should work, some days i do snack also
I'm pretty sure when they say to eat "three main meals" a day, they are thinking more along the lines of 1,200-2,000 calories a day (or more). Not under 1,000 (Wednesday of this week) and surely not under 500 (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of this week).0 -

STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENGTH TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
Which requires that you eat. A lot.
FUEL THE FIRES OF INTENSE WORKOUTS
With lots of protein.
You're in starvation mode. Eating more is the only way to get out, and if you're going to eat more without gaining too much you have to work out. So I recommend strength training. High weight, low rep is where it's at, gurl.
Oh and three meals is actually not ideal. I eat six small meals. Well I don't actually keep track, but it's basically a lot of high-protein snacks throughout the day. Try getting away from this "meal" business. That might also help you out.0 -
You almost don't eat at all! I'd faint
You don't either0 -
Hi all
i have being my diet since Jan 12 and have been very happy with my weight loss up until now!!!!! the last 3 weeks i have only lost 2lbs,:explode:

I just need to lose another 7lbs and i have hit what i call the jackpot i.e my target and i need to do this by 7th June 12.

ROTFL
You ate like 300 calories yesterday.0 -
If your diary is in fact correct, I recommend you go out NOW and get you some fish and chips. You got 1200 calories remaining, for Pete's sake.
^^^YES and stop skipping dinner.
It is going tot take your body a few weeks to adjust to more calories but in the end you will lose more, look better and be healthier.0 -
Okay,
Step 1, eat more: What you are doing is not helping you achieve your goal. You can already see that your progress has stalled. Keeping at this pace will only make it worse.
Step 2, be patient: Do not be afraid that your weight will go up a little when you eat. That isn't fat, that is just the food slowly working it's way through your body.
Step 3, drink plenty of water: When your body first receives food it will want to hold onto it. Water will help keep you system functioning normally and keep everything moving.
Step 4, excersize: Whatever you do, you will need to keep active.
You may hate this for the first week or two, but if you are sincere about your goals, then you need to get serious about how to achieve them. Your body is a machine and you can't make the machine more efficient by simply giving it less fuel to work with. Give it the fuel it needs and then put it to work using that fuel to make it a stronger machine.
The parts of your body that use the most energy (calories) are your muscles. By not nurishing yourself properly you are causing those muscles to waste away, which in effect reduces the amount of calories your body is using on a daily basis. Hence the stall in weight loss.
Hope this helps,
- Bill0 -
Change up your cardio, add lifting weights, don't forget to rest! Yes, rest is important. Variate your caloric intake. Drink water.
Don't starve your body. I can see from the other comments that you must not be eating enough on a daily basis. You need a MINIMUM of 1200 calories or the body goes into starvation mode. I don't think I need to explain the rest.
Remember, you didn't gain the weight overnight, you won't lose it overnight.
Best!
-Sierra0 -
I've heard the closer you get to your goal weight. the harder it is to lose. I am losing 1-2lbs per week, but I'm expecting once I hit 130 (5lbs from my GW) that it will take me around 6 months if not longer to lose it. Sounds crazy but I've talked to plenty of people who found those last few pounds are the hardest.0

you have got to be kidding - you really need to eat more! that is just sick! pretty sure that thought is unanimous!0

WOW..this op's diary looks familiar, like the one I saw yesterday where everybody was congradulating her loss infact her diary are almost the same!!! So this op will be attack for not eating enough and the other one will be congradulated for not eating enough, totally confusing!!!! :noway:
But I do agree, YOU NEED TO EAT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grumble:0 -
I'm going to pretend I didn't just look at your diary and see what I saw. GO OUT AND EAT SOMETHING, you've got to be freaking kidding 500 calories a day.......This is NOT a site for ED's, which is not something to joke about cause I had one, so if you're seriously eating that much and asking this damn question I think you need some serious help.
I do not have an eating disorder and i would never encourage one, i eat three meals a day and i never feel weak or tired or withdrawn in any way, i get through my workouts just fine and feel great after them. I started reducing my calories in March 12 as the calories that i was consuming were not losing any weight. If i ever felt as though i needed to eat then i would. I feel fine within myself also
A lot people here have a similar experience, where they successfully lose weight while eating a deficit of calories, but then they hit a wall and stop losing weight. I am not doubting that you feel fine as you say on such few calories, although I am surprised. You probably have a lower-than average calorie need. Hey, it happens, that's what AVERAGE means
If you really want to keep your calories low, I'd recommend eating maybe just a tiny bit more each day, an apple and a few almonds every day will give you only 100 more calories, see how your body likes that.
You're eating mostly sweets and bread, so you could also consider eating something a bit more substantial instead, like whole wheat bread, chicken, broccoli, that sort of thing.
I see you're mostly walking, which is good, and actually you probably can't do much more on so little food.
If you're up for it, I suggest eating 500 more calories a day and doing a bit of jogging instead of just walking.
Basically, try anything EXCEPT eating less, and see what happens.
Also... be careful... I'd hate to have you skinny but fainting on your wedding day. Don't mind us all yelling. We're just worried for you.0 -
for just 7 cents a day you can sponsor........oh wait, nevermind, wrong thread....\m/0

Question:
I am on a program online (www.myfitnesspal.com) I put in everything I eat and also mark down my calories burned each day through exercise.
It is telling me to eat back my exercise calories I burned so my net does not fall below 1200 - which is my goal if I want to lose 2 lbs a week.
They said if I only eat 1200 a day and burn off say 600 that is only giving me a calorie intake of 600 for the day.
What do you suggest? I just hate to eat back all the calories I worked so hard to burn off – kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion?
Answer:
Great question! To start, I would like to clarify that eating 1200 calories to lose weight is fine for some people, and not others. It may be too low. So for those of you that are interested in calorie counting, you must check a program first like the one listed above, as the amount can be influenced with your activity level, your height, and your age.
When you're eating 1200 calories per day you would likely lose weight without exercise. So when you add exercise in there, and burn another 600 calories, you leave your body only 600 calories to use for energy throughout your day. This is not good. Not only will this make you tired and quite possibly *****y, but your body will start going into starvation mode. This is a fact my friends! Our bodies are absolutely brilliant, and we are made to survive. This is what our bodies want, and will do anything to obtain. Therefore, when you eat too little, your body will hang onto everything you eat...just in case it doesn't get enough calories today, and/or the next day. When you eat just enough calories for your body, your body will be satisfied, and will burn the calories for energy. This is what you want because this will also make you feel energized, and it will feed the muscles we are working so hard to get Therefore, when you workout, yes you want to replace the calories lost, and you want to replace it with healthy food choices and not look at it as an excuse to hit the Toonie Tuesday fast food restaurant on your way home. Working out is awesome for losing weight because there is a calorie deficit, but more importantly, it helps you relieve stress so you don't stress eat, and it also helps you build lean muscle so your body is strong and burning calories at rest all day long. Remember, every pound of muscle you have on your body, you burn and extra 50-100 calories doing nothing per day! If you want to get this lean muscle, you must eat back a proper amount of calories after our workouts. So no, you are not defeating the purpose by eating back some of the calories lost during a workout.
Another point I would like to make is that when people create a calorie deficit of course they're going to lose weight initially. You just need to be mindful how much of a deficit you've created. If it is too much of a deficit, you'll lose for a couple weeks, and you'll lose fast. The only thing is that it is not maintainable. You're body will start craving food like crazy, and when you start to feed yourself a proper amount of calories, your body will pack on pounds because it is scared that it will soon run into another famine, trying to survive on low calories. It will want to preserve the calories it is getting as a "safety net". Therefore, you want to lose weight by taking calories out in a smart way. This can simply be through healthy eating and exercise. Our workouts can burn anywhere from 300-800 calories per hour. This depends on how hard you work, your current weight, and the type of workout we do for that day. Another deficit you can create in a healthy way is through your food. Counting calories is a great way to show you portion control, so you start to learn what your body needs. I do believe that counting calories at the beginning of a weight loss journey is good as it teaches you about types of food and the calories they contain, along with the amount necessary for you. Portion control is great thing to learn in this day and age with "supersize this, and 2 for 1 that", because we have portion distortion when it comes to food. Nonetheless, if this is something that you can't find the time to do, or something you don't want to do forever, listening to your body is very important as well. If you're cutting back on your calories, working out, and are well hydrated but notice you're always tired, one of the reasons could be because you've cut out too many calories. Adding in an apple a day, or some cottage cheese could make the world of difference. Cookies don't usually fit the bill.
Overall, being mindful of the types of foods you eat while working out, is likely going to work for some as well. Kicking the late night snacking can slash a couple hundred calories a week - or more! Switching from double double coffee to black can cut back calories, opting for an actual piece of fruit compared to a glass of juice can make a difference. Make small changes that cut back calories in a smart way....don't overdo it and put your body into starvation mode. It will be the start of habitual yo-yo dieting. Yikes! Balance it out so it is a lifestyle you can maintain

Fri 04/01/11 03:24 PMMakes total sense to me. I totally agree with finding out truly what your BMR is so that you don't go to low. I got in some trouble when I first got on this site b/c I was set to 1290 and it turns out my BMR is 1802. Sent me into the dreaded S mode and still haven't recovered. It's a slow journey for sure but I'm confident with doing it the right way it'll work. At least I'll be in really good shape. Report Post|Quote|Reply

How so? She's saying to eat most of them back. She acknowledges that 1200 is a deficit and probably too much for some people., then states that if you burn 600 and don't eat them back, you're asking your body to try and exist on 600 calories a day if your calories are set at 1200.
Translation, she DOES get that you're at a deficit and she DOES advocate eating most of the exercise calories back. Report Post|Quote|Reply

I agree with others, you need to eat more. Plain and simple. You are doing more damage than good to yourself. Yes, you are eating "three" meals, but those meals are basically nothing. Add more fruits, veggies, and lean meats to your diet. Focus on increasing your calorie intake. There are a TON of things out there that are good for you that you could add to your diet. One entry was soup for lunch for 50 something calories. Soup is fine, but add some veggie steamers and fruit, or even some lean grilled meat to go with it. Target at least 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day and mix up your exercises.
You have dropped your calorie intake to dangerous areas. Make each meal be around 400 calories if you are going to only eat three times a day. There are so many fast and easy options out there to achieve that.0 -

I got that question an answer from another post but basically it says if you eat to little your body will hang on to everything.0
-
You are not eating enough0
-
You are not eating even close to your daily requirements in calories or nutrients. What is this....'as long as i eat 3 meals a day' crap? Under eating is under eating...period. Whether is 6 meals a day or one...Not enough calories is not enough calories. Hectic lifestyle bullsh*t. We all have hectic lifestyles but find time for a decent meal.
Educate yourself on healthy nutritional habits, start eating.0
