i believe you have to figure out how many calories you burn doing strength training, then input those calories manually. you can try and research it online, but most people (i believe), get a Heart Rate Monitor and that is how they figure out their calories burned.

If you entered strength training exercises in the Strength area of your diary, MFP doesn't calculate calories for that. You have to enter it as "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" in cardio - with the number of minutes - and then you'll see a calorie adjustment.

Under carido there is streght training. Just add in the number of minutes you did the activity just like walking. If you get a HRM you will have more accurate numbers for your burn.

You'll have to log the length of strength training uner the cardio section. My diary is open if you need a reference.

As far as I can tell the "Strength Training" section under the Exercise tab is strictly for you to keep a running tab on what you are doing an d doesn't actually apply anything to the MFP formula settings.

That is for tracking your progress with lifting.

For inclusion as a workout with calories, go to normal section of exercises and search strength training.
