Is losing lbs and/or inches getting your swagger back on?

Last night we went bowling. Right before we finished bowling our games, the bowling alley started blasting some really grooving dance music. Really loud and really funky/cool music. I got up and started dancing, my husband got up and started dancing with me (this is so NOT him nor me really--but REALLY not him), then our children started dancing with us...the next thing I know, almost every body in the bowling alley started dancing. It was so FUN and amazing. Now, the greater majority of the folks bowling were older people--it was an absolute BLAST. My swagger as/since I'm losing pounds and inches is definitely ON as I'm dropping pounds and/or inches--FOR SURE. There is :noway: NO WAY:noway: I would have done that this time last year.
Is your swagger on now (again or perhaps for the first time EVER) since or as your are losing pounds and/or inches? If so, how so?

I love this post!
I'm at the start of my journey but I look forward to having the same experiences! My boyfriend randomly starts dancing with me in the shops and things, and I blush like crazy! I want that confidence so bad0 -
I'm imagining bowling alley musical here... Sounds like a really great memory for you and your family!0
-
love that you got a whole bowling alley to join in the dancing! what was the song? i'm so curious!
niagarasailor: i absolutely love the photo in your progress ticker!0 -
Love it! Definitely got my "groove" (I'm old school!) back since losing weight! Walking taller with my shoulders back and head held high!0
-
Oh mine is totally back. I act stupid as hell to have fun pretty much any chance I get now because my confidence is so high and I care so little of what others think of me now.0

I don't know what the name of the song was, but it started off saying... Day-Oh...Dayyyy oh..daylight commeth and me wanta go home (NOT by Harry Belefonte, by someone else), then it busted out into some loud FABULOUS deep base FUNK saying put yo hands up, put you hands up get and dance ...OKAY, I googled it I FOUND IT...it was THIS song mixed with something else....
Jason Derulo "Don't Wanna Go Home" (Official Lyric Video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZX6vhwoPGw
MIXED with this one:
David Guetta ft. Miguel - Raise Your Hands (New Release 2011)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcLEF1BXBeA
Now the song, put your hands up was KICKING major tail, way more base and funk than this version
Girllll, I LOVE YOU for asking what the songs are. Now I can ask my dd to load them on my "red machine" (a.k.a an ipod--I hate technology and call that thing "the red machine" and use it pump up my workouts--I use big ole headphones, cause I HATE them little earbuds). Woo, I can't wait to get on my treadmill, bike and stepper to these songs!!!!0 -
That's freakin' awesome!!
I've been working out a lot more and eating a lot better these last few weeks and have already started to notice the inches coming off (measurements on May 1st!) and I've definitely got more swagger... lol Just the other night in zumba, I was "wiggling" it to LMFAO and the instructor came over and wiggled with me It's contagious (as you know by the bowling alley!)0 -

Ya know, I'd never heard these songs before. I wasn't really listening to the lyrics (Don't Wanna Go Home) when we were dancing, and now that I've listened closely...it's, ummm, well....let's just say it's not what I normally would EVER listen to BUT...that said, I will ALWAYS remember this and it will always be a GREAT family memory for me. Plus, whenever I hear it again (yes, even though the lyrics are foul, I LOVE the beat) and it will always remind me of my husband--he is soooooooooooo COOL, and especially to get up and dance with me (which inspired our normally reserved children to get up with us) and he REALLY helped get almost everyone in that whole group of bowling alley folks to get their "groove on" dance party started right    and it was so much fun!!!!!!!!!! :bigsmile:0 -
That is the cutest thing! It sounds like it's right out of a really sweet movie.0

Yep, it really was. Also, the name of the first song (which was really JAMMING minus the lyrics:blushing: ) was so appropriate;
"I Don't wanna Go Home" and we were finishing up our games as this music started.
Also, side note: If anyone looks at that video by Jason Derulo (called I Don't Wanna Go Home I posted a youtube link to),PLEASE NOTE: it was a warning on there that says some folks may have an epileptic fit watching it :noway:  also, pls. note that the lyrics have some cuss words in it and talking about drinking and stuff like that--just FYI0 -
This makes me laugh cuz the other night we were at my sister in laws house hang in out have in a good time and apparently I had a few sexy moves I didn't even know I had! Haha a few drinks were involved but I was feeling sexy and confident that night...totally not like me! But it was fun!0

How fabulous--Rock it girl--ROCK IT!!!!! Plus, I didn't really think of it, but girl that dancing can make for a serious FAT CRYING session (a.k.a. sweating) as well--yay for you0 -

That's great that you all had such fun--I find that me standing up at work and at home in front of the computer lets me dance around all I want every day, which has given me such a lot of help with core stomach muscles and all, for no painful effort at all. I love dancing around, much more than doing something in a gym--not my speed at all.0

hahahhahaahhhaaa... I wasn't really thinking about it as looking stupid:laugh:    so much as COOL and confident and just plain, ummmm....young(er) and happy and FREE/fearless. I know my "boyfriend" was looking FINE dancing with me and the children were looking really cool too and the other folks were looking happy as all get-out too. Which of course, can definitely look/be acting stupid too:laugh:   I Just felt totally cool and grooving and all "swaggerly" and stuff, ya know?:laugh:0 -

That is awesome. I can imagine how fun that was for y'all!
My first moment of returning swag was my 19 year old son coming in and saying "Mom! You're smiling! I like that." I guess it had been quite a while since he had seen his mom smile. I smile a lot now!0 -
Ab-so-friggin-lutley! I am so much more confident and happy.... I dance ALL the time - by myself, while I run, in the car, at home, at the grocery store, with friends or without... with hubby, with the kids... ALL the time!
