Probably the best NSV...

I have an addiction to food. I'll eat when I'm not hungry...to the point of making myself sick. It's like I'm afraid that if I don't eat it now, there'll be no food later! Well, I've been really trying to break this habit for the past few weeks. And yesterday and today are the first time in...a long time!...that I've actually felt fine. I had a turkey sandwich (230 cal) for breakfast this morning, an apple and a fiber brownie after work (180 cal) and a bowl of cereal when I got home (200). I had one mini Snickers bar and was able to stop. I'm not tempted by anything in the fridge. Just feeling chill, sipping water, watching Jeopardy...and NO desire to snack!

This is a huge NSV for me. It gives me hope that I won't have to continuously fight myself day in and day out. I know it's a little early to celebrate but I'm feeling so dang happy atm :) Has anyone else had this problem? If so, were you able to overcome it and how so?

Congrats on your NSV!! Not snacking is tough!! I have the same problem. I think alot of it stems from growing up in a big family. For example, if mom made us a birthday cake and we didn't have a big piece, when we woke up in the morning someone would have eaten it all. :grumble: I have overcome it by practice, practice, practice, in self control. And ALSO, when I know I will be hungry to snack, I plan for it and eat something healthy like a cheese stick or fruit.

I am, however, concerned about how little you ate today. It is good to practice self control, but eating so few things (and most of them being processed, sugary things) isn't giving your body everything it needs. Keep up the good work, but try to work in more healthy foods and get closer to your 1,200 goal. Aside from being good for your body, this will make it easier for you to stick with your eating plan because you will be eating more and feel fuller.

Good work, keep it up!! :drinker:

Sounds like you are on the right track. As long as your snacks are healthy and in your calories allowed, they are fine too. I know what you mean though. I found that if I keep a lot of bad things out of the house, it's easier! :)
