I bench with Olympic barbell. My trainer has me pyramiding up. Started with just bar, but went up to 80 first day. I'm now pushing 95 ...yesterday. I LOVE bench ....0
-
My one rep max is currently 75 pounds also. That is with olympic bar and plates Can any females here do 100? Is that a good goal to strive for?0
-
My best was 110 in high school, but is only 95 now
Might be higher, but I have no lifting buddy - no spotter. One day i will find out xD0 -
How many reps are we talkin? Cause I'm totally impressed! I just started heavy lifting.0

1 rep max :]0 -
I started doing the movements empty-handed, the moved to dumbells, then an empty (non-OLY) barbel. Am now up to 5x5 with 40lbs (inc bb).0

Oh okay...I'll find out tomorrow then! Now I'm stoked for the gym.0

My 95 yesterday was 1 . But !!! My goal is 100 , or beyond : ). I'm a tad bit competitive ...even with myself0

Oh yes it was a bench machine like an all in one at home type. The bar is 45 so it had 2 10 lb and 2 5 lb added. Only one Rep mid-workout. Did some sets of 10 with 55 lb. Some sets 65. I think 8 reps 650

I started with just the bar - 45lbs. Worked my way up to 80lbs 5x5 a couple of weeks ago, and I've been stuck there ever since. I can't seem to push it higher.0

At last count (I don't bench regularly) about a month ago, I did five reps at 105#, no sweat, after 10 reps each of 75, 85, 95. I have no idea what my max is right now (I'm guessing at least 135), but at one time I was able to do 197#.0

My bar is 25 on the machine sorry. But I did get to 75.0

I have benched 3 sets of 8 at 60kg, which is just over 130lbs.
I'm sure I can do more, but I won't try without a spotter.
Edited to say, I started in Body Pump class with 5kgs. LOL. Once I started with a trainer, we started with just the bar, which I think is 20kg.0 -
I started yesterday thanks to your post and only benched 50lbs on the machineI'm determined to double it!0

I got to 80 tonight 3 reps x20
-
i started at maybe 75 also, once i was done learning form on the naked bar.
I most recently maxed three reaps at 120 pounds. :blushing:0 -
I started at 185 when I was a lot younger now im up to 3150

On the incline bench press I do 3 sets of 10 with 65lbs. I have not tried to see what I could max myself out with 1 lift though...0

I started with a Bench Press weight equivalent to most of the women in here. Was doing 65lb. for 8-12 reps a long time ago. Benching was the only barbell exercise I thought I could do back in the day. I've struggled to get past 140 for 5's over the past months. Hopefully loading smaller increments will help. Back to 130lb. now.0

I can't even bench the bar yet. :blushing:
I'm working my way up with incline presses. I can do that with 15lb dumbbells. I suppose that's a 30lb equivalent?0 -

Actually, probably more since dumbbells are harder to bench due to needing to use more stabilizing muscles.0 -
A couple of days ago I got my strength training equipment, and the first bench press I tried was just the bar (45 pounds). It was pretty easy, so I kept adding weight and got up to 115 pounds before it really became difficult. I went a bit higher from the 115 to 125 and then to 130, and I believe that the 130 is my one rep max right now. So, I am officially starting from 25 pounds under my max for my bench presses, and will build from there.0
