Hi guys
I am new to MFP and adore the friends I have made on here. However, I only know one lady who is doing low carb. Are any of you lovely folks trying to reduce your carb intake or following a more ridgid no carb diet?
It would be lovely to hear from you, please feel free to add me with a little message.
Good luck with your weight and fitness journey, I look forwards to sharing it with you.

There's no fixed definition of "low carb". I know from a bit of trial and error, that I feel best when I try to keep under 100g carbs per day, but really, anything in the range of 80-150 works fine.

No carbs is EXTREMEELY difficult, given the amount there is in our friend Vegetables.
  • I am a carb watcher! :) Have been doing it for 19 days. :) Lbs are DROPPING off....FINALY!! :D I have been getting carbs from fruit and veggies, but I have not been eating ANY bread, pasta, ect. Its been REALLY hard, but totally rewarding! :D

I try to avoid most carbs from bread and pasta. When I was being really good with it, I would drop a pound a day. Low carb really works for me... I just have difficulty doing it all the time. That's why I really like this site. I find that I can still lose the weight if I stay within my calorie budget. However, I also find that I can eat more food when I stick to low carb options... bread and pasta add a lot of calories. Protein doesn't. And protein is more filling and it doesn't burn off as fast as carbs.
