I just saw this on Sky News and have been ranting about it since.
I'm not sure why they are giving it air time!
    Shocking!
I would NEVER even dreaming of doing this!!!

OMG what is wrong with people.... all that to starve your body and gain back triple what you lose instead of just stop whining and being lazy and take more responsibility for what you choose to put in your body and move around more.. that simple.. UGH..

I can't see a single reference to 130 calories in that article. Where did you get that from?
The gist seems to be about not eating but having the drip feed you all through the day.

Argh so annoying! I've been bugging everyone I know (who wants or needs to loose weight/get fit) to get on here or start couch to 5K, people think they can't do it the normal way, eat less move more - i didn't think I'd ever be jogging but here I am week 5 day 1 finished today of C25K, onwards and upwards. I feel sorry for all the people who don't get it :(

Yes the article did not say 130 calories, but the news story on BBC news did! I guess it may depend on the size of the person, as they may drip feed them more... but the lady they did the case study on was having 130 calories.... !

...this article from Sky news mentions the calories... still confused as to why people would want to do this... it solves nothing!

Its absolutely mad and certainly not healthy. The weight is bound to go back on. I know someone who did a diet similar to Lighter Life which was around 500 calorie liquid diet a day. She lost about 5 stone in as many months, that was last year. Since then she has regained it all and has now started doing the same diet again. Absolutely mad. If it didn't work last time what makes her think it will work this time?

Why not just do intermittent fasting?
  • Hmm, I'm not sure it can be considered a diet, since you'll gain the weight back anyways... I think that most people who agree to this follow the diet for 1-3 days and then binge massively. It's saddening that they feel desperate enough to turn to such extreme measures.
