How are you meant to manage your heart rate? I don't run particularly fast, I push but not too hard and my heart rate is sky high! It comes down quickly, but should I be worried?

It comes down as your fitness improves ( when I'm running 10 min miles mine will be around 150 but I can still carry on a conversation)

Fast recovery is a good sign. No chest pains? Are you gasping for breath or just breathing deeply & slightly heavily?
  • I worry about mine also. My target zone is from 129-169 but when running it goes up to 210bpm. I don't get chest pains, so I know thats a good sign.

I feel fine - It goes to about 185 at peak in a 5mile run approx 10min miles, and then when I cool down it reduces to about 150 in less than a min.
