A Few Questions

I know there may be a few questions someone else has asked, but i figured i'd ask them to get the answers directly
1. Is there an easier way to add meals like say for dinner my gma makes us a pork or beef roast with carrots, potatoes etc but there's no way to know what brand or what kind of roast it is?
2. How do i figure out how many calories i consumed i ate if i didn't eat the entire serving (ex. Cubed cheese: serving size 7 cubes: 110 calories and i only ate 4)
3 (Exercise) If i found a workout online and it isn't on the list. How do I know how many calories were burned?
Just answer the questions the best you can
(i feel kind of stupid asking but i figured i could use this site better)

1) Roast should be the same cut of meat. You should be able to look up roast in the food database.
2) 110/7=15.7 per cube * 4 cubes = 62 calories
3) No way to really know for sure without a Heart Rate Monitor but you can look on other websites to see if they have the activity there.0 -
Roast will be anywhere from 200-300 calories for 3 oz.0

i have an answer to #2 for you, and don't feel stupid!! Asking is a good way to get answers
! When you select the food item, and all the info is entered for one serving there will be a small box to the left, usually with a 1 in it. If you didn't eat one full serving, but say had half a serving, change the 1 to .5, and so on, depending on how much or a serving you ate (.25 for a quarter serving, .75 for three quarters serving etc. ). I hope that helps out! Once you get everything figured out you'll love this site! We all do. Good luck on your goals.:flowerforyou:

good point. so it would be 4 cubes/7 cubes per serving (actual vs number in serving) so you would enter .6.0 -

Also, a lot of times, if you click on the serving size there will be options for different serving sizes. So, it might say a serving size is 8 ounces and then when you click on the box there is an option for 1 ounce. If you know you had 3 ounces, you can input 3 in the field on the left and then 1 ounce for the field on the right. I don't like doing fractions like 3/8 so that's my preferred method for things I can't do in 1/4 sized increments. I hope I didn't just confuse you more!!!
And for your first question, another tip is for frequently consumed meals. You can make your own meal (like your Grandmother's roast) and save it so that each time you eat it, you don't have to find each individual ingredient again. Another tool I found useful is on this website:
http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php?process=resubmit&count=6
And for activities, this one:
http://www.prohealth.com/weightloss/tools/exercise/calculator1_2.cfm
Or just search the MFP database.
Good luck and just ask anymore questions if I confused you more!0
