eating before exercise?

I recently started 30 Day Shred and usually do it in the morning so I was wondering, would it be best for me to eat before, after, or both?? I was also curious about when would be the best time to eat my protein/carb rich foods?

    I have no idea from a scientific stand point but eating before has never hurt me. I try to let the food settle a little if I'm planning on working hard though. About 30 minutes works for me. I eat pretty light most mornings but sometimes have coffee or tea. I don't like to work out hopped up on caffeine so I usually wait until noon to work out. I have a very flexible lifestyle though so whenever I feel like working out works for me.

    I know on the back of some protein shakes it says take before a workout and some I've seen say immediately after so I'd be interested in some opinions on this too.

    I usually wait an hour before I work out after i eat. Then I have a protein shake right after
