So....Nobody uses WEN (by Chaz Dean)?

I don't have curly hair, but I know a lot of people who do and they use it. I've used it for 3 years (on my straight hair). Best thing I've ever purchased for my hair. seriously

    Moroccan oil all the way!!!

Does anyone else have the "curl control cream" by Moroccan Oil?
  • nope--no curl control cream--just the oil.

Here's the run down on things that I'VE TRIED and how I feel about them....

I've tried WEN and it was good but over priced IMO.

I've tried Super Skinny oil by Paul mitchell. It's great but not much different than Frizz Ease or something like that.

I've tried Fekkai glossing cream and LOVE LOVE LOVE it but it's a bit pricey. Worth it but pricey.

I've used Biolage hydratherapie products--their conditioners are great and their leave-in spray is fantastic.

I've used Sleek Look shampoo/conditioner by Matrix--smells manly but it's okay. Not WONDERFUL but not bad.

I've tried herbal essences mousse but they changed it and I'm pissed so I don't buy that anymore.

I love Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner for the cheap-cheap.

Hot oil treatments are crappy for my hair.

I generally straighten my hair, but if I leave it curly then I use a mousse and a difuser. If I don't use the difuser it frizzes every time.
  • Right now I'm loving Aussie's Aussome Volume Mousse. It gives me sort of beachy waves without because sticky or crunchy...which I do NOT want.
  • oh AND I've had a mini Keratin treatment (I think they're sometimes called a Keratin Blowout) and it made my hair soooo much easier to deal with! It reduced the frizz by a ton, therefore reducing styling time.

I use a drop or two of pure argan oil. I tried the Moroccon line, but noticed it has the same ingredients (dimethecone, etc.) as the John Frieda line, but way more expensive. Pure argan oil - nothing else -is the way to go. I get mine on Amazon - the Watts brand is terrific.

I usually use a product called Curls Up. Just put a little bit in and scrunch as I blow dry on low.

I use Matrix Essentials sleek . Paid 12.00 at beauty brands for 1 liter size. Had to throw that in because reg size is closer to 20 dollars and wouldn't pay that much. when my hair is wet I use CATWALK by TIGI CURLS ROCK. suggested by hairdresser. then air dry. Got the catwalk curls rock @ Walmart.

LOVE this topic!!! DevaCurl all the way!! You can get it on Amazon, but I go to a stylist trained for curly hair. Have never been happier with it.

Anyone recommend certain devacurl products? There are so many !

Deva No Poo, One Condition, Volumizing Frizz Free Foam, Mister Right. The foam is relatively new and I love it-- so much easier for me to get every where evenly than the AngeL gel that I had from Deva before, which I love until I started with the foam.

DITTO on the No Poo and One Condition. Don't need to wash hair as often, and it is recommended that sometimes you use JUST the conditioner. I end up buying 2 conditioners for every 1 shampoo. Am also using "Set it Free" and the Angel gel. But there are a few different products because even all us curly girls have different hair...

I use sulphate free shampoo and conditioner by Naked and then coconut oil. I have also tried Rahua finishing treatment which is really nice but very expensive.

Nooooo to so many of these responses. I barely wear mine curly, but this hair demands more than drugstore shampoo. I use TIGI's Bedhead line a lot, but really want to try Moroccan Oil's deep conditioner. Moroccan Oil is also something kind of like FrizEase, only a ton better. Smells great, stops frizz.

I use renpure "My pretty hair is parched" shampoo... pretty spectacular, if you ask me. Then I do a conditioner rinse with aveeno's moisture+shine.. then I use coconut oil to hydrate, then a sealing oil on top of that.. usually almond or mango butter.

I have mixed hair, though, so it requires products that weigh it down a bit! :)

i use the garnier fructis sleek and shine conditioner for frizz, and then i use t-tree cream after my shower in my hair. sometimes i use garnier fructis sleek in shine serum or frizz control hair spray, i find that white girl products do not work that great for me though. the t-tree cream is awesome

    Awesome topic!

I have some crazy curly hair that's very coarse.

I normally keep mine under control with a little bit of gel.

I love L'oreal Sulfate-free Shampoo and Conditioner. It leaves my hair feeling super soft and smooth.

YES! If you have curly hair, you need to go sulfate-free and salt-free. I like the L'Oreal line of sulfate-free shampoos. Also, don't towel dry your hair...let it air dry!

I also like using products that have argan oil. Moroccan Oil is one of the brands that contains argan oil, but you can get similar quality for lower prices. I personally use One 'n Only Argan Oil that I buy at Sally Beauty Supply. It's affordable and a little bit goes a LONG way.

Some products that have silicone in them work well for curly hair, but I'm not sure that silicone is good for you in the long run, it can weigh down your hair.

I have curly hair and when I want to wear it curly I use Deva Curl....low poo, conditioner and gel. If I want to wear it straight I use WEN, it truly is an amazing product !!

Store bought products dont work on my crazy curls.... I use Miss Jessies and love it.. I use the quick curls because I HATE gels and everything that make it crunchy...ewww. I hardly ever straighten my hair because I just welll dont have time so Ive explored many products and this works the best

I also am a fan of WEN shampoo its amazing. my stylist uses it but I havent bought it. I keep saying I will

I use Kirkland Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner from Costco. They are 100% vegan, no paraben and no sulfates.

I have finally found the perfect styling procuct for my type 3a/2c curls : Schwarzkopf Osis+ Thrill Fibre Gum

I can't say enough about this product - it is amazing! It gives me hair great hold with defined curls and leaves no sticky or crunchy residue: My hair feels soft and totally touchable. Plus, I am one who is allergic to many products and have no problems with this one.
  • I love this, I always straighten mine cause the curls don't cooperate, usually goes super poofy. But when I do leave it I use Aussie's leave in conditioner/mousse, keeps hair from going all crunchy but holds well. I also always, whether curly or straight, put in garnier fructis sleek and shine anti frizz serum, just run a small amount through my hair when it's still wet and keeps it silky.

Biolage Mousse. I've tried so many products and mousse is the only thing my hair likes. I don't like when products make your hair look greasy or the wet look. I dry 1/2 way, add mousse, then dry a little more.

I like the sulfate free shampoo & conditioner from L'Oreal. I also rotate in the sulfate free products from Aquage. ( love their serum for straightening)

I use a little AG recoil curl activator on curly days, plop in in a towel for about 20 -30 minutes, then air dry with clips in near the scalp to give some lift at the roots. Follow with Aquage serum.

I like Elnet hairspray because it does not get crunchy.

I have naturally very thick curly hair, Since having it chopped off into a graduated bob about 2 and a half years ago, I don't think I have worn it curly since! Even though it is long again now, I straighten it every day, i use morrocan oil and Paul Mitchell serum. I LOVE this post as I will be wearing my hair curly when I go away in the summer and need to be re-trained in styling my curly hair lol x
