I get cold and tired, how come?

Whenever I decide to start eating healthier, after about a week I notice I get very very tired (falling asleep in class) and I get super cold, even when it's warm. It's like a chill coming from inside my bones if that makes sense.
I find that odd because surely if I'm eating healthier I would have more energy because I'm getting the nutrients I'd been missing out on before?
Oh yeah, and I also get really cranky and start crying over little things like dropping my pencil case or spilling a drink. It's really discouraging because I thought the opposite was meant to happen..

Sounds like you might be going too drastic on the 'healthy eating'. Try changing more slowly and keeping up some good fat/oil intake i.e. oily fish, avocado, nuts.
Snack regularly, eat lots of lean protein...
Try aiming to lose a pound a week instead of two pounds (if you are starting by aiming for two pounds).
Good luck!0 -

This could be a sign of under-eating. I had it when I started. It was hard to explain , as if it was cold under my skin.
Re-check your calorie goals and make sure you do not have a deficit that is too aggressive.
I was fine once I adjusted my goals.0 -
I feel the same! It's been a fortnight since I started using MFP. However, my partner just reminded me we are heading into winter ...

Are you taking a multivitamin? If not consider it. I think it's B12, but I'm not sure, that's associated with the release of energy. You could be eating the perfect amount of energy foods, but without the vits, they are unusable to your body.
Also, try to find the energy/time graphs of various foods, and eat them so that the energy peaks when you need it. For example humous releases most of it's energy 3-4 hours after eating. For pasta it's nearer to 12, and for fresh fruit like oranges it's nearer 0.5-1.
Don't forget to hydrate as well, as tiredness is one of the mild symptoms of dehydration.0
