Hi! My boyfriend made me delicious fresh orange juice in the juice machine this morning. I LOVE pulp so I added some to my glass of OJ, but we have about 6 oranges worth of pulp. Any ideas what can be done with it? I would be up for muffins or something, maybe work it into oatmeal?? NOt sure.

Anyone have any good recipes or ideas?

well if you want my honest opinion....i would suggest you dump the juicer.

losing the pulp is losing a vast amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

If you dump the juice and purchase something like a vitamix (my favorite thing ever in life) you'll never lose out on pulp again because there will be no pulp. the vitamix pulverizes everything and turns it into something incredible.

you don't even have to remove pits or skins if you dont want to (but some peels, like orange peels, are very very bitter)

i'm about to go use mine right now to make my protein smoothie. :)

Well, I have a blender and a food processor too and I use those for smoothies. But orange juice can only have so much pulp before it's not orange juice anymore!

I love the pulp though and am hoping for a recipe I can bake it into or something.

ps - that oj was SO good this morning. It was very fresh and flavorful. I never buy jugs of OJ cause they're just not that great by comparison and having to juice your own oranges certainly limits the amount of juice you can consume (probably a good thing!)

I have made this before but muffins instead of a whole cake and use the pulp rather than boiling the orange, obviously cooking times would need to be adjusted, not really low fat but very tasty (even un-iced) and you can freeze them

it's hm....the most perfect machine for the kitchen...its a blender..an emulsifier...a pulverizer...it makes soups and heats them up (using friction), grinds grains, makes peanut butter, grinds coffe beans, grinds meats, i think they say it's a 12 in 1 machine.

    What is Vitamix?

If you've ever been to a State Fair, a farmer's market or watch late night tv infomercials, you've probably seen a Vitamix and didn't know it! There has been a Vitamix sales demo at every State/County fair I've ever been to, and if you are among "the first" in a group to buy one, they usually throw in a couple of Ginsu knives with your purchase.
