Reached my Goal Weight, but not done yet!

Today I weighed myself and found that I had actually gone under my goal weight, but I can't stop now! I'll have to increase my calorie level to maintain my weight, but I will still be lifting and running to increase my level of fitness and to further tone and strengthen my body. I have my first 5K run set for June 9 this year and am able to do squats with more than half my body weight - so far.

I know my ticker only shows I had five pounds to lose, but I didn't find this place until after I had lost the first 37. I was looking for a way to figure out calories in my food and stumbled across this place - where great tool and wonderful people made the last part of reaching my weight loss goals more interesting, more fun and waaay more informed than I would have thought possible.

I love all of my MFP friends to death - they have praised, cheered, coaxed, scolded, laughed and cried with me, not only with the weight loss, but with things that were happening in my life and theirs. Couldn't have done it without them! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

The pics below are me one year ago (with my grandniece), and last week.

I am so glad I connected with you on MFP. In my short few weeks here you have served to be quite an inspiration for me. I am THRILLED to see what you have been able to accomplish. Your accomplishment tells me I can do it, too. Age, height or anything else are barriers I put up for myself and they can be blasted through, just like you have done.

Keep up the great work on maintenance. I am sure everyone in your life is very proud of you - you deserve it!!!!

Congratulations! I am pretty new here, too. I had already lost the bulk of my weight when I foind this site. I am about 16 pounds to my goal. I weigh in every month and my next weigh in is this Tues. and I'm hoping to finally break out of the 150's. I plateaued there for a long time and I am anxious to say "bye-bye" forever. Thanks for the inspiration. I plan to continue to improve after my goal is met too! You look amazing!

Thank you to everyone who has commented - and to those women over 50 out there that are still struggling - it can be done! If I can do it, anyone can, especially with the friends you will meet and learn from and learn to love here.

I started off with just yoga, dance aerobics and calisthenics - crunches, squats, that kind of thing. Tried running and hated it, but kept on because it really helped with dropping pounds. It wasn't until 5 weeks ago, when I was nearly at my goal weight, that I looked into lifting - after seeing all of the beautifully fit women here, it was something I had to try. So I bought the New Rules of Lifting for Women, some used weights, a balance ball, and had my husband build me a platform for the step parts and started in on that. I still have to get him to build something for when I need to start the pull ups and chin ups, but I think I have a bit of time before that yet!

So now its yoga every morning, running or stairs at noon, weights on Monday/Wednesday/ Friday, and cardio on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. I supposedly give myself Sundays off, but find that I usually end up doing something in addition to the yoga. I just have so much energy now!
