How To Calculate Calories Burned *WITHOUT* HRM

I love sharing this site here and this is a repost for any noobies:

My friends with heart rate monitors say it is a very accurate calculator.
Basically, take your heart rate by feeling your pulse in your neck with your finger tips in 15-second intervals. Do this 3 or 4 times over the course of your workout and record the numbers. Then average them all together (and multiply by 4 to get your average heart rate per minute). Plug that number into the calculator and, voila, a VERY accurate estimate of your calories burned.
It's tailored to YOU. And no expensive equipment necessary. No sign-up or login. 100% free!
I hope this helps!

Wow, if that is right I have been way underestimating my cals burned. I elliptical very vigorously but MFP says I burn like 350 cals and this website says 500. I realize MFP has to average the effort and many people don't go at it like I do.
Thank you so much for the website!0 -
