Honestly? It's because most calculators for TDEE are often vague and wildly inaccurate.0 -

MFP is a tool for TDEE, as is every other calorie-based diet plan. Take MFP's original target calories, add the total of your logged exercise, and poof, you've got your estimated TDEE. They just choose to subtract exercise calories from what you've eaten, rather than add them to your target. Either way, you've arrived at the same result if you eat back the exercise calories. Simple algebra.0
