Dietician has me eating below BMR

Your BMR is your `maintenance' calories. In order to lose weight anyone around here will tell you that you need to eat below this number, 500 per week seems to be the norm. I would say (and again in my completely non medical opinion only that I myself have lost over 80 lbs doing this....) that if you stick to this and not go under 1200 you should be fine. Good luck. no it is not your "maintenance" calories! its the amount of energy your body uses to stay alive, or what you would burn if you laid in bed all day. maintenance calories are how many calories you should be eating a day to maintain the weight you are at. if you always ate your bmr you would continue to lose weight.0 -
i echo that you should go with the medical experts on this one vs. people on mfp who think they are 'experts'. what works for one doesn't always work for another. only your physicians can tell you what is best for you taking into account your medical history and current health.0
